LONESOME YOUNG COMPANY
A bold new acting company for young people aged 7–14 in Hackney.
Not stage school.
Not about being perfect.
Not about who gets the biggest part.
We play. We move. We make. We act.
Lonesome Young Company gives young people a creative space where they can build confidence, use their imagination, make friends and discover what they're capable of.
The sessions will be active. Games, movement, improvisation, storytelling, character, scenes, scripts, Shakespeare, devising and eventually making proper pieces of theatre.
And underneath all of it is the Lonesome mentality:
GET IT WRONG. TRY AGAIN. SUPPORT EACH OTHER. MAKE SOMETHING.
What makes it different
Lonesome already has a professional acting-training identity. The professional adult workshops are aimed at actors and regularly work with professional directors, playwrights, casting directors and other industry guests.
Lonesome Young Company is a bold, playful acting company for 7–14 year olds in Hackney — building confident, creative young people through acting, movement, storytelling and play.
That's the proposition.

Who runs it
Olive Pascha is an award-winning director, writer, and visual artist working across film, theatre, and photography. Her multidisciplinary practice has been shaped over the past twelve years through extensive work and education across the UK, India, Russia, Europe, and Lebanon. She is drawn to the in-between spaces, unanswered questions, and raw contradictions of the human condition, inviting actors into a space of creative uncertainty and philosophical curiosity.

WHAT WE PROMISE WE WILL DO
Lonesome Young Company is a creative acting company for young people aged 7–14 in Hackney.
Through acting, improvisation, movement, storytelling, scripts and play, we help young people become braver, more confident and more creative.
Our workshops are energetic, supportive and practical. We get up. We play. We make things. We encourage young people to take risks, use their imagination, work as an ensemble and discover their own voice.
There is no pressure to be perfect and no need to have acted before. Just come ready to play.

Lonesome Workshops is built around professional training, care, encouragement and respect.
Lonesome is led by Niall Phillips — a qualified teacher, classically trained actor and award-winning theatre director with extensive experience teaching and directing young people and professional actors. NIALL HAS A FULL - as will all our staff.
We believe young people do their best creative work when they feel safe, supported and able to be themselves.
That means clear safeguarding procedures, appropriate checks for those working with children, professional boundaries and a no ego // no judgement environment.
